Denver Police Department rookie Detective Tanya Morris, who has recently relocated from Wisconsin, and veteran Detective Ryan Anderson are like oil and water, with the most significant difference being that Tanya considers evidence before making a decision, whereas Ryan relies on gut instincts. They are joined on a case of three high-end art thefts at big galleries with a week before Christmas, reluctantly partnered on their end in their disputes. Francis Miller, who has a criminal record and functioned as the Christmas party Santa Claus at each gallery right before the robberies, is their top suspect. They decide to undertake a stealthy stakeout after noticing that the house adjacent to his is for rent.
